Moyer, Smith & Roller, P.A., Certified Public Accountants, has two area offices located in the Charlotte, North Carolina region. The firm's five partners have from fifteen to thirty years of experience, each with specific areas of specialization.
Currently ranked as one of the Charlotte Business Journal's Top 25, Moyer, Smith & Roller, P.A., Certified Public Accountants had its beginning in June of 1989. Following a career that included professional positions and ownership at regional firms, Thomas M. Moyer III, CPA formed the firm along with one para-professional. With the support of a handful of loyal clients, a world of confidence, and the determination to succeed, Mr. Moyer organized an accounting practice committed to the goal of client accessibility and service. These policies set the course for the future. The response from clients and friends has been incredible. Within a few months, a second full time staff person was hired to support new business. In July of 1990, Wesley E. Smith, CPA joined the firm as its first professional staff person. He later became a valuable partner and accepted the responsibility for the management of the firm's Charlotte office. Continuing to grow and look to the future, the firm purchased the accounting practice of Earl C. Roller, JD, CPA in July of 1995. In November of 1995, the firm again expanded through the acquisition of another Charlotte CPA firm. At that time, the firm's name was changed to Moyer, Smith & Roller, P.A., Certified Public Accountants, to reflect these additions to the growing firm. From November of 1997 through January, 2007, the firm acquired two additional Charlotte CPA practices. These acquisitions and the consolidation of several smaller firms has given Moyer, Smith & Roller, P.A. a significant presence in Monroe and the metropolitan Charlotte area. The combined, individual experience of the firm's management professionals exceeds sixty years. In 2013, Moyer, Smith & Roller, P.A., celebrated its twenty-fourth year of operation. From a small two person practice in 1989, the firm has expanded to a multi-location, full service accounting, tax, and consulting practice with five partners and fifteen supporting staff. The firm has been recognized by the Business Journal as one of the Charlotte areas largest CPA firms as ranked by the number of local professional staff.
